A 30-year-old Newark man who posted bail in connection to a 2014 shooting, is now accused of carjacking a woman five days after posting bail.
According to authorities, Clarence Gaffney, appeared in court today after he was arrested Friday on the charges of carjacking, resisting arrest and two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.
After almost two years that a warrant was issued, Gaffney formed part of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's most-wanted list, for the August 28, 2014 shooting on Martin Luther King Drive. The victim, who was 21 at the time, was taken to the hospital in críticas condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Following his arrest, he was released from jail Oct. 7 after posting a $150,000 bail.
However, he is now being accused of carjacking a woman in Jersey City who identified him in a photo array, police said.
A new bail is expected to be set by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Mark Nelson in connection to Gaffney's new charges.
Gaffney was also found to have two warrants out of Irvington Municipal Court with a total bail of $8,000.
