An armed robbery at gunpoint of a gas station in Newark's West Ward has police investigating.
The robbery happened at around 3:30 a.m. at the Citgo Gas Station where two black male suspects, who were armed with weapons, arrived at the establishment and announced a robbery with their guns drawn according to reports.
Employees reportedly handed over several hundred dollars before the suspects ran from the scene onto Mount Vernon Avenue.
Once the suspect got around the corner, the men fired a single shot in the direction away from the establishment according to reports.
Police setup a crime scene where they located the shell casing but did not locate any injured victims.
The incident is under investigation by Newark Police.
