Police in Newark arrested Kevin Porter, 27, of Newark today for pointing a gun at a victim on Sunday.
Police said approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to Huntington Terrace near Renner Avenue on a call of a person being threatened with a gun.
A 27-year old female victim stated that the suspect pointed a gun at her following a verbal altercation and then fled the area.
As part of their investigation, detectives determined that Kevin Porter is a suspect in this offense according to police.
Porter was arrested without incident by members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team and charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
