A late night shooting in Trenton has police searching for a motive.
Officials at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering injury from gunfire shortly before 10:30 a.m.
The victim told authorities that he was shot near 685 Rutherford Street shortly before arriving at the hospital by private vehicle according to reports.
Police searched the area for a crime scene but it is not clear if anything was ever found.
The victim's injuries were not considered life threatening.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
