Suspect Sought in Newark South Ward Armed Robbery

Newark Police are seeking the public’s help identifying the below pictured suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday.

Police said at approximately 6:45 p.m. officers responded to a business located at Clinton Place near West Runyon Street on a call of a robbery.

Upon arrival police said a male victim told them that he had been robbed of cash and merchandise inside the business establishment.

According to police, video surveillance captured the suspect, who fled on foot heading north on Clinton Place and east on Millington Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches, in his mid-20’s, wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and a black hat.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
