Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna announced today that the Fairfield Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision.
Authorities said last night at approximately 12:40 a.m. in the vicinity of Passaic Avenue and Little Falls Road, a Suzuki GSX motorcycle and a Ford F-150 collided.
According to authorities, motorcyclist, Cesar Alberto Garcia Tapia, 28, of Paterson was transported to Saint Joseph's Hospital in Paterson where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
At this time no charges have been filed authorities said.
