Police in Newark are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a check cashing place in Newark's West Ward earlier this evening.
According to preliminary reports, police are looking for a black male suspects who was last seen wearing a dark colored bandana and armed with a gun when he reportedly committed an armed robbery at the P&R Check Cashing Place located in the 600 block of Springfield Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m.
It is not immediately clear how much proceeds were taken before the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.
There were no injuries reported.
