A robbery at a Linden bank this afternoon has police investigating.
Officers responded to the Northfield Bank, located at 501 N. Wood Avenue, for a report of a bank alarm this morning at approximately 11:54 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers were told that the bank was just robbed. The suspect was described as a black man, in his 50’s, approximately 5’7” to 5’9”, with a mustache, and dark glasses.
According to police, the suspect passed a note to a teller indicating that he had a gun and demanded cash. He was given an undetermined amount of money and left the bank headed west on W. Elm Street.
The incident is under investigation.
