Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Stephen J. Rizco of the Highland Park Police Department said today that police are searching for a man who molested an 11-year-old girl in the borough.
The man is described as white, between 30 and 40 years of age, has short spiked hair and is unshaven. He last was seen wearing a gray T-shirt and black shorts.
An investigation by Detective Sean McGraw of the Highland Park Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the unidentified man approached the victim at 9:25 p.m. on Sunday when she went to the parked family vehicle to retrieve a cell phone.
The man improperly touched the girl and fled toward Donaldson Park when she began screaming.
No arrests have been made, but the investigation is active and is continuing.
