Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, announced that there were no Mega Millions game jackpot or second-tier New Jersey prize winners, but there was two third-tier prizewinning tickets sold that matched the four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball for the Tuesday, August 23 drawing.
Those tickets were purchased at the following locations:
Monmouth County: Wegmans Manalapan, 55 Route 9 So., Manalapan; and
Passaic County: ACME #1099, 5774 Berkshire Valley Rd., Jefferson Township.
If those tickets had been purchased with the Megaplier option, it would have multiplied the prizes to $10,000.
In addition, 15 other players’ tickets matched the four white balls winning $500 each. One of those tickets was purchased with the Megaplier option, making it worth $1,000. Moreover, 59,431 other New Jersey players took home $97,496 in prizes ranging from $1 to $100, according to Hedinger.
“Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold the winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.” The winning numbers for the Tuesday, August 23 drawing were: 02, 07, 46, 61 and 66. The Gold Mega Ball was 01, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.
The next drawing will be held Friday, August 26 at 11:00 pm. All New Jersey Lottery Mega Millions tickets must be purchased before 10:45 pm to participate in the drawing. Mega Millions tickets cost just one dollar; by adding the Megaplier option for an extra dollar per play, players can increase their non-jackpot winnings up to five times.
