An East Orange man found dead on the NJ Transit tracks that borders East Orange and Newark has authorities investigating.
According to a spokesperson for NJ Transit, at around 7:35 p.m., authorities were called to the the tracks near the 7th Avenue pedestrian bridge for reports of a trespasser laying on the tracks.
Arriving emergency responders located the adult male unconscious and unresponsive at that location the spokesperson said.
The man was pronounced dead a short time later.
Authorities are attempting to determine the exact cause of the man's death according to the spokesperson.
The 7:10 NJ Transit Train number 441 that was carrying 118 passengers and traveling out of Hoboken, was delayed for about 45 minutes.
The spokesperson said the NJ Transit #70 bus cross honored Morris/Essex Line commuters during the time that trains were not running in either direction on the tracks.
Service resumed in both directions shortly before 9 p.m.
