A 26-year-old Trenton woman was charged with child endangerment after leaving 1-year-old son unattended in her house.
Police and firefighters were called to the Stuyvesant Avenue home sometime around 1 p.m. after a 911 call for help was received.
Upon arrival, Kimberly Rizo (mother of child) told police she went outside to check on her car sometime around 9 a.m. Thursday when her son locked the door behind her. After unsuccessful attempts to re-enter the home she eventually called for help.
Firefighters forced their way into the home and found the child unharmed.
The state's division of Child Protection and Permanency was contacted and after further investigation, Rizo was arrested and charged.
