A strong armed robbery that occurred in Newark's Ironbound section has police searching for suspects.
The incident was reported at around 3:35 p.m. Monday at the Independence Park where police were called to the scene on reports of a robbery in progress.
Units canvassed the area for two black males and a heavy set black female who approached the victim and demanded a cell phone and other person possessions according to reports.
One of the suspects was reportedly riding a bike when they fled the scene.
There were no injuries reported.
The Essex County Sheriff's Department are involved in the investigation.
