Arrest Made in Murder of Iselin Gas Station Owner Killed in Newark

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that Malcolm Massey, 49, of Newark has been arrested and charged with the murder of Devinder* Singh Jodha, 47, of Iselin (Woodbridge).

Massey was arrested this morning without incident. He is charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons offenses.

He is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

Authorities said On May 30, at approximately 4:25 p.m. Jodha, the owner of the Power Gas Station, located in the 400 block of West Market Street in Newark, was shot at his place of business.

He was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead aauthorities said.

Bail for Massey was set at $1 million by the Honorable John Zunic, Judge of the Superior Court.
