Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey announced that a grand jury in Middlesex County indicted an Edison Township man on charges of providing drugs that caused the death of another township man.
Emile Constable Jr., 25, of Edison was charged with one count of first degree strict liability for drug induced death, one count of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of third degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, one count of fourth degree hindering and one count of third degree hindering.
The charges were handed up in New Brunswick during a presentation to the grand jury by Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Bina Desai.
The charges were filed after an investigation determined that the defendant sold 10 bags of heroin to the decedent. Each bag contained approximately one gram of heroin.
Constable was arrested on February 25, 2016 after toxicological testing showed that the victim, subsequently died on February 24, 2016 after ingesting fentanyl and heroin.
The investigation is active and is continuing.
