Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported the indictment of a Camden teen in connection with a January homicide in the city.
A Grand Jury indicted Casche Alford, 17, on counts of first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Alford is charged with the shooting death of 13–year-old Nathaniel Plummer, Jr. of Camden.
She had voluntarily waived up to adult court on this homicide case along with an attempted murder and robbery case, which will be presented to the Grand Jury separately.
It is alleged that Alford fatally shot Plummer in the area of Beacon and Line streets in Camden on January 7, 2016.
Camden County Police had responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. that night in reference to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls reporting a shooting. Officers arrived and located the victim lying on the sidewalk.
He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 12:14 a.m. on January 8.
The suspect has been held at a juvenile detention facility since January 9 when she surrendered to Camden County Police.
