An early morning shooting in Jersey City is under investigation by authorities.
Hospital officials at the Hoboken University Medical Center contacted authorities when a male victim suffering from apparent gunfire entered the hospital's emergency department.
The incident happened at around 4 a.m. when the victim told authorities that he suffered injury from gunfire near a bar in the 400 block of Tonnele Avenue shortly before arriving at this hospital reports said.
Police search the area around the bar but it is not immediately clear if a crime scene was ever found.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
