JERSEY CITY -- A man found fatally shot early this morning on Clinton Avenue has been identified as 28-year-old Javon Murray of Jersey City the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced.
According to authorities at about 2:45 a.m., Murray was shot once in the upper body between Kennedy Boulevard and West Side Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene about five minutes later, authorities said.
The department's homicide unit is actively investigating the shooting, though Murray's death has not officially been ruled a homicide, according to officials.
