A 34-year-old woman was sentenced yesterday to at least eight years in prison for a wrong-way crash that killed a West Orange man on an upstate New York highway last year.
Amy Dell, of Rome, N.Y. was convicted of two counts of vehicular manslaughter for the May 8, 2011 Interstate 81 crash that killed 58-year-old Bruce Ham.
On the day of the crash, police said Dell allegedly spent the night barhopping before she collided head-on with the vehicle that Ham was driving.
Dell prior to her sentencing said she was deeply sorry for my mistakes, my very poor choices and my actions.
Paul Ham, son of Ham, read a statement among which he stayed that his father - as an ordained minister - would have accepted Dell's apology.
