City Man Arrested for Fatal Camden Shooting

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a city man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred June 29, 2016 in Camden.

Tashad Henry, 22, is charged with murder in the death of 48-year-old Walter Davis of Camden.

A second suspect is still being sought in connection with this homicide.

Henry is scheduled to be arraigned at 3 p.m. today before Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley in courtroom 42 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.

Camden County Police responded at approximately 11:18 p.m. to the 300 block of Sycamore Street in Camden in reference to a 911 call. Officers arrived and located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds lying on the ground. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:28 p.m.

Henry was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division at approximately 8:59 p.m. on Thursday in Bridgeton.

He was remanded to the Camden County Jail.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
