Two alleged carjackers accused of attacking a city man Monday were arrested, according to police.
On Monday, a 53-year-old Newark man ran into the police division's 1st Precinct asking for help, claiming he had been carjacked by two males who ultimately crashed his vehicle.
The suspects were reportedly last seen running west on Hunterdon Street.
Three Newark police supervisors ran to Hunterdon Street, where the suspects were last seen running, where they took them into custody after a short foot chase.
During the chase, the suspects allegedly dropped a knapsack containing several credit cards and cell phones.
The suspects were later identified as Damon Barrett, 18, of Newark, and a 17-year-old male.
