An alert resident helped authorities capture a Roselle man suspected of breaking into a borough home Friday, police announced today.
On June 10th, at approximately 8:23 a.m., a resident contacted the Roselle Park Police Department stating that a suspicious male - unknown to the area - had entered the rear yard of a residence located on the 200 block of W. Westfield Avenue.
Upon arrival, residence were cleared by police but the basement doors were found unlocked and wide open.
The witness described the actor as a black male wearing a green jacket, black pants, and a black hat. She also stated that he had left the area prior to the police arrival on foot heading east bound on W. Westfield Avenue.
Roselle Police were advised of the incident also and advised the Roselle Park Police Department that they had an individual detained matching the description given.
An on scene identification was made by the witness.
The suspect – later identified as 50-year-old Almighty D. God-Allah, of Roselle, was arrested for trespassing.
Following an investigation, God-Allah was formally charged with burglary.
He was released with a summons with a Union County Superior Court date.
