Police Search for Suspects Responsible for Grocery Store Robbery in Newark

Authorities in Newark are on the search for two suspects who are wanted for a brazen early afternoon robbery of a grocery store in the city over the weekend.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose is requesting the public’s help with identifying the suspects in the provided images.

According to Director Ambrose, on Sunday, at approximately 2:00 p.m. two suspects walked into the grocery store located in the 200 block of Sherman Avenue and robbed the establishment at gunpoint.

Store management said that one of the male suspects was armed with a gun when he demanded cash and other items. The men took an undetermined amount of cash and other items that was behind the counter before running from the scene management said.

Director Ambrose said although police are actively searching for the suspects, we are asking for the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets where he continues to pose a threat.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
