Expect heavy traffic in Harrison and parts of the East Ward of Newark as officials are expecting the Jackson Street Bridge to remain closed for the Wednesday morning rush.
Officials closed the bridge early Tuesday morning for mechanical failures and emergency upgrades to the bridge.
Gridlock traffic had commuters in the immediate area sit in about one hour traffic delays to get in and around the city.
If you are heading on to the area, get an early start.
Here are some of the streets that should be affected:
1. Frank E. Rogers Boulevard (Around the 280 West ramp) (Local Traffic Only)
2. Harrison Avenue
3. Market Street (Newark)
4. Jackson Street (Newark)
5. Bergen Street (Harrison)
6. Raymond Boulevard
It is not immediately clear when the bridge is expected to reopen.
