Newark Cops Arrest Suspects Wanted for Robbery, Shooting

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced the arrest of two Newark men for robbery.

According to authorities, on May 23, 2016, Lyndon Fenty, shot a 31-year-old victim during a robbery in the 100 block of Roseville Avenue.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries authorities said.

Four days later on the 27th, officers from the 2nd precinct interrupted Fenty and his 23-year-old compliance Curtis Davis near the intersection of Broadway and Montclair Avenues as they attempted to carjack a 34-year-old Newark man.

Police said officers chased the duo before apprehending them and recovering the gun without further incident.

On June 6th, authorities said Major Crime Detectives through a painstaking investigation, identified Fenty as the suspect responsible for the Roseville Avenue robbery and shooting.

Fenty is being charged with Carjacking, Aggravated Assault, Two Counts of Robbery, Two Counts of Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and Conspiracy according to authorities.

Davis is being charged with Carjacking, Eluding, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and Conspiracy.

These are accusations against Fenty and Davis. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
