Critical Injuries For Woman Struck by NJ Transit Bus

Newark Police are in the early stages of an investigation where a New Jersey Transit bus struck a Newark woman in her sixties.

According to authorities, the woman was crossing the street at the intersection of Mount Prospect Avenue and Heller Parkway shortly before 1:30pm, when she was struck by the bus as it was turning from Mount Prospect Avenue onto Heller Parkway.

The woman in listed in critical condition and is likely to lose both of her legs authorities said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
