A fast moving fire that broke out early this morning inside a motel in Irvington had injuries reported.
Firefighters were called to the Gallery Holiday Motel that's located in the 50's block of Ball Street shortly before 4:45 a.m. on reports of a fire with possible trapped occupants.
Crews rushed to the scene where they noticed heavy smoke coming from the single story motel located at the intersection of Ball Street and Nye Avenue according to reports.
Two people were rescued from the motel reportedly suffering non-life threatening burn injuries and handed over to EMS for treatment and transport to the hospital.
A thorough search of the establishment had no other injured occupants as officials placed the fire under control shortly before 5:15 a.m.
Irvington firefighters were assisted by Newark, Maplewood, and Orange who all were credited with rapid action in avoiding further injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
