Authorities have identified the 64-year-old man that was killed in a three-alarm fire in the city last night.
According to city officials, firefighters responded to 410 West Side Avenue sometime around 6:30 p.m. for a fast moving fire.
Upon arrival, crews were able to place the fire under control by 7:17 p.m. but the raging fire managed to spread to attached buildings at 408 and 412 West Side Ave.
A search of the residence, yielded the discovery of 64-year-old Thomas Cahill, who was killed by the blaze.
Two firefighters were transported to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, where they were treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
