Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a homicide in the city overnight and are seeking the public’s assistance in providing information.
The homicide may be related to two other shootings that occurred in a three-hour period on Tuesday night. The public’s assistance is requested in identifying an older model SUV (pictured below).
No one should approach this vehicle; the occupants of the vehicle should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see this vehicle, call 911 immediately.
Authorities are also seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the below pictured individual, who may have information pertaining to the homicide.
Camden County Police responded at approximately 1:32 a.m. on Wednesday to the 3500 block of Pierce Street in Camden in reference to a single ShotSpotter activation for a gunshot.
Officers arrived and located the victim, Terron L. Phillips, 19, of Camden, suffering from a gunshot wound lying in the street. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:45 a.m.
On Tuesday, at approximately 11:26 p.m., a Camden County Police officer heard a gunshot in the area of the 1400 block of South 8th Street. Two victims seated in a car were approached by the three suspects. A suspect armed with a shotgun tapped on the passenger side window and shot one time into the front window of the vehicle. Neither victim suffered a gunshot wound.
On Wednesday morning, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Camden County Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter in the area of the 3100 block of Berkley Street. A victim reported he was walking in the area of Garden and Freemont Avenues when he was approached by a man with a shotgun. During the encounter the suspect fired the shotgun at the victim. The victim was not hit as a result of the shooting.
The investigation into all three shootings is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
