Camden

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a juvenile suspect will be tried as an adult in connection with a Camden homicide.

Casche Alford, 17, of Camden, appeared in juvenile court Thursday on a first-degree murder charge and had her case waived to adult court.

Alford is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 13 before Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley in courtroom 42 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.

Alford is accused of fatally shooting 13–year-old Nathaniel Plummer, Jr., of Camden on January 7, 2016 in the area of Beacon and Line streets.

Officers arrived and located Plummer lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 12:14 a.m. on January 8.

The suspect has been held at a juvenile detention facility since January 9 when she surrendered to Camden County Police.
