A Roselle Park man accused of stealing over $12,000 after cashing stolen checks has been charged with theft and forgery, according to police.
Authorities said, on May 2nd, a 66-year-old female resident of Roselle Park reported a theft of personal checks and forgery, as the stolen checks were found to be cashed with a total loss of approximately $12,575 over the course of a few months.
A follow up investigation discovered that the suspect, Donald Picciano, 55, of Roselle Park, was an associate of the victim.
Authorities said on May, 5th, Picciano was located and arrested on Hemlock Street.
He was charged with 3rd Degree theft and forgery.
Picciano was issued a summons and released with a pending Union County Superior Court date.
