BREAKING NEWARK NJ: Arrest Made in Murder of NJIT Student

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Anthony Anthony Ambrose has announced that two suspects have been charged with the murder of Joseph Micalizzi 24, of Feeehold.

According to Prosecutor Murray, on May 2, 2016, Micalizzi was shot at approximately 3:15 a.m. during a burglary/robbery at the fraternity house where he lived.

Taquan Harris 22, of Newark and Nafee Cotman 18, of Irvington have been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, burglary, and weapons offenses.

Bail was set at $1 million.

Harris remains at-large and considered armed and dangerous the prosecutor said.

These ARE accusations. ALL defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
