A Linden resident wanted for the May 19, 2015 burglary of a N. Stiles St. residence has been arrested by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department and turned over to Linden authorities.
Jovany Infante, 36, was charged with burglary and is being held on $25,000 bail at the Union County Jail this morning pending a court appearance this week.
On that date, Linden officers responded to a residential alarm at the house and discovered a broken window and some blood droppings. Detectives recovered the blood evidence and sent it to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Forensic Lab for DNA testing.
After several months of investigating, Detective Michael Burnette obtained an arrest warrant for Infante this past January. Infante, upon being informed of the warrant, told detectives that he would surrender with his attorney on the complaint, but he continued to elude authorities for nearly three months before being apprehended in Essex County.
