Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating a late night pedestrian strike that killed a woman in the city.
Emergency responders rushed to the area of East Grand Street and Rt. 1&9 on reports of a woman struck by a vehicle at around 11 p.m.
Crews arrived to find the badly injured woman at that location according to reports.
The woman was transported to Trinitas Hospital where she died early this morning.
The identity of the woman has not been released at this time.
Authorities conducted an investigation to determine how and why the incident occurred.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
