Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Officer in Charge Anthony Smith of the Dover Police Department announce the arrest of two interstate drug traffickers and the seizure of 15 kilograms of cocaine.
On April 20, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (DETF), the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Dover Police Department received information that an individual was trafficking illegal narcotics through Morris County in a Ford F 350 pickup truck with an attached trailer.
During the evening of April 20, members of the Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop of the truck and trailer in Dover.
Following the motor vehicle stop, 15 kilograms of suspected cocaine were located and seized from the trailer. Both occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest and charged.
Fredy Lorenzo, 35, and Jennifer Vasquez, 28, both of Homestead, FL were all charged with the following:
• One (1) count of first-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine).
• One (1) count of second-degree Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine).
• One (1) count of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine).
Bail is currently set at $250,000, no 10% option, with a bail source hearing condition and a waiver of extradition imposed.
Both individuals were lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
