A man wanted for a at least a half dozen burglaries in the city's North Ward had cops apprehend the suspect while he was in the act of committing another burglary early this morning.
Cops responded to the area of Bloomfield Avenue and Ridge Street on reports of a burglary in progress at around 1:15 a.m. when they arrived to find a male suspect in the act of committing a burglary and attempting to flee the scene.
Officers with the assistance of a police helicopter, tracked the suspect down, arresting the man a short distance away.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they later revealed that the suspect was responsible for several burglaries in the area.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
