Police retrieved a child from the streets of a Newark South Ward community after finding the toddler wandering during the overnight rainstorm that passed through the city.
According to preliminary reports, police found the child who is reportedly 3-years-old in the vicinity of 368 Badger Avenue just before 11:45 p.m.
Reports say the unidentified child was soaking wet and walking in the area when police located them.
EMS units were called to the scene to evaluate the child, but there were no severe injuries reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
