Police arrested a Paterson burglar that claimed he had been sent by God to enter a woman's car.
A 68-year-old woman coming back from a bus trip Tuesday, was surprised to find Zakiy I. Muhammad, 20, lying in the car with the seat back sometime around 11 p.m..
When the victim yelled for Muhammad to leave, he told the victim that God sent him there.
According to police, a good samaritan and the bus driver were able to get Muhammad into the bus until police arrived.
Muhammad was charged with burglary of an automobile, providing false information to hinder his apprehension, resisting arrest and theft.
He is being held at the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bail.
Police said the car appears to have been left unlocked, since there was no evidence of a forced entry.
