Work/Life Boundaries Produce Growth For Marriedpreneurs

New Jersey

By: O.L./Sway Buckley

We're talking about growth all month long because there are so many different aspects of it as marriedpreneurs.

Today, we're coming from the perspective of boundaries producing growth.

Let me explain.

First, to be sure we are on the same page, let's look at the definition of the word boundary.

Boundary: a limit of a subject or sphere of activity.

Some look at this word as a bad one when in fact, it's a word that points to growth.

Using this definition, we can see that working within confinements requires discipline and focus.

Marriedpreneur PodcastLet's talk about the different ways this can lead to great growth on a marriedpreneur journey:

  1. Boundaries for self: This could mean minding your work hours, adhering to a schedule that forces you to focus on business, and spending quality time with your family. This is a lot easier said than done. (If you know, you know).
  2. Boundaries for spouse: Whether holding each other accountable to date nights or promising not to disrupt each other during work hours (especially if working from home together). This looks different for each couple. Although we have breaks throughout the day, we do our best to give each other our space to focus in deep (until break time!)
  3. Boundaries for others: Once you have cleared the first two points (for self and spouse), this third boundary becomes a lot easier (usually). Concerning people who mean a lot to you, we learned it helps to explain when the best times for connecting/communicating with you. This sets the expectation for those loved ones without making them feel pushed aside.

Boundaries are a good word for us. They have helped create profitable daily practices that yield great ROI in marriage and business. If you're a marriedpreneur couple seeking to implement profitable boundaries into your life, start with our free Marriepreneur Checklist here.
