Woman Wanted for Armed Robbery During Fraudulent Car Sale

Newark Police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 51-year-old Marie Campbell, who is sought for questioning regarding her alleged involvement in a robbery incident on Monday, April 1. AdAccording to authorities, the incident unfolded around 1 p.m. in the 100 block of Avon Avenue.

Police say a male victim reported that he had been lured to the location by a woman—later identified as Campbell—who had offered to sell him a car. Campbell instructed the victim to follow her to the 100 block of Jelliff Avenue, promising that the car they were to discuss would soon be delivered there.

Upon arriving at Jelliff Avenue, the situation escalated when another male, ssociated with Campbell, nformed them that the vehicle would arrive shortly.

Sensing potential danger in the pending transaction, the victim decided to leave the area but was subsequently confronted and robbed at gunpoint by two unidentified males.

Detectives have linked Marie Campbell, who also goes by the nickname "Baby Cakes," to the robbery. Campbell is described as approximately 5'4" tall, weighing around 170 pounds.AdThe authorities have not disclosed the specifics of her involvement but are eager to question her as part of their investigation.

Director Fragé of the Newark Police Department has issued a public plea for any information related to Campbell's whereabouts.
