A woman suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Newark's South Ward on Tuesday morning.
It happened around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Lyons Avenue and Fabyan Place.
Police and EMS were dispatched to the intersection to investigate reports of a pedestrian strike and when they arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground injured.
Officials said the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and listed in serious but stable condition.
The incident is under investigation by Newark Police.
