Irvington Township Police are investigating a pedestrian strike that sent a woman to the hospital on Friday morning.
The incident occurred just before 11:25 a.m. when a 55-year-old female resident of Newark was struck by a motorist at the intersection of Madison and Stuyvesant Avenue.
As a result of the collision, she suffered non-fatal head injuries and is currently being treated at Rutgers University Hospital in Newark.
The investigation into what caused the collision is ongoing.
Police officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
