Police officials in Newark are investigating a mysterious and potential Hazmat incident that sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday night in the city’s West Ward.
Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara, told RLS Media that just after 9:15 p.m. on May 11,, officers responded to a residence at Brookdale Avenue, near Abinger Place, on a call of a sick or injured person.
Responding officers located an unresponsive woman who was being treated by EMS.
When the victim regained consciousness, she reported that she passed out after spilling a substance she found inside the apartment that she had just moved into.
Officials have not confirmed what the substance was at this time.
This incident remains under investigation.
