There were non-fatal injuries reported for a woman shot in the Plainfield early Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out at around 5:20 a.m. sending police to the scene where officers canvassing the scene located a female suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
The woman was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and expected to be ok reports said.
Police set up a crime scene where they searched for evidence.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
