Police in Bridgeton are on the search for a suspect who fatally shot a woman on a porch in the city.
Police say on Saturday, August 11th at approximately 1:33 am, the Bridgeton Police Department were dispatched to 243 Walnut Street, Bridgeton, for shots fired.
Units arriving at the scene found a female gunshot victim, who authorities identified as Ms. Erica S. McNair, 44, who sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say McNair was transported to Inspira Medical Center Vineland then ground transported to Cooper Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
A preliminary investigation determined McNair was on the front porch of her residence at 243 Walnut Street with two subjects when gunshots were fired and two unknown subjects ran from the area.
Police recovered numerous shell casings.
Bridgeton Police and CCPO Major Crimes detectives are investigating and have encountered difficulty obtaining cooperation from witnesses.
