Authorities in the Union County town of Berkeley Heights are on the search for a suspect wanted for a brazen morning robbery for a woman on Monday.
According to a statement released by authorities, Berkeley Heights Police Department received a call from a victim reporting an armed robbery that occurred sometime between 10 and 11:00 am in the Stop and Shop parking lot at 404 Springfield Avenue.
Police officials say the victim reported that two males approached her as she exited her vehicle and brandished a small knife and demanded money and sunglasses.
Berkeley Heights Police officials said the victim handed the items over to the men then the suspects walked away.
Police say the assailants are described as black and Hispanic males, both are reported to be under 6 feet tall, with short hair and spoke without accents.
The matter is under investigation by the Berkeley Heights Police Department Investigations Division.
