Police in North Bergen are investigating an armed robbery that left a woman injured in on a street in North Bergen Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 74th Street and 1st Avenue to investigate reports of an armed robbery in progress at around 1 a.m.
Police officers arrived at the scene found a female suffering a laceration to her neck and a non-life threatening injury after an unidentified suspect approached and began to rob her.
Police say the suspect began to attack the woman during the robbery then fled the scene westbound on 74th Street.
The suspects is described as a light-skinned male -possibly Dominican- who wore a t-shirt and dark shorts with a ponytail.
Police say the victim was treated for her injuries at a hospital then released.
The suspect remains at-large.
