A woman that called police headquarters early this morning stating that she shot a man inside a residence in Allamuchy Township (Hackettstown) placed police on the scene.
The incident happened in the single digit block of Alexander Road shortly before 5 a.m. when police arrived to the scene to find an unconscious and unresponsive male victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound according to reports.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and police placed the woman in custody.
NJ State Police Major Crimes Unit located a weapon at the scene.
The relationship between the victim and suspect has not been released at this time.
Police believe the motive for the shooting is domestic.
