New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) police responded to a pedestrian strike near the university’s campus on Tuesday afternoon, leaving a woman injured.According to authorities, police and emergency medical services were dispatched to the intersection of Cornerstone Lane and Warren Street after receiving reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, first responders found a woman in her 60s suffering from serious injuries.
She was transported to University Hospital for treatment, though the extent of her injuries has not been confirmed.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The incident remains under active investigation.
