Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect involved in the shooting of a woman in the South Ward on Sunday.According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, at approximately 2:32 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 200 block of West Runyon Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had been shot.
The victim was transported to University Hospital, where she is receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.Director Fragé reported that she is currently in stable condition.
This incident remains under investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to identify and apprehend the suspect.
